Express Entry is a selection system, not a single visa and not a promise of permanent residence. A candidate first establishes eligibility for one of the programs managed by the system.
Eligibility, documents and CRS score
Depending on the program, a candidate may need approved language-test results, an educational credential assessment for foreign education, qualifying work experience and proof of funds. The profile information determines the CRS score and must later be supported by documents if an invitation is issued.
After an invitation to apply
An invited candidate must submit a complete permanent-residence application within the deadline shown by IRCC. Accuracy matters: differences between the profile and the documents can lead to refusal or other consequences.
